Kitchens with wood or wood decor fronts

Kitchens with character and vitality

The most exciting part when planning a new kitchen is choosing the design. The use of materials significantly changes the effect of a kitchen from cool and stylish to warm and cosy. Whatever the case, the natural beauty and vitality of wood are unique.

Whether as a wood-look decor, high-quality veneer or solid wood, it will win you over with its serene, natural design language and enable you to add elegant touches that raise the status of any kitchen.

Wood veneer fronts: high-quality versatility

Whilst solid wood fronts are made entirely of wood and are therefore characterised by their long life span, wood veneer fronts consist of particle board coated with a thin layer of natural wood. The natural surfaces are perfectly protected by a durable two-part lacquer.

This method brings a range of benefits and is an economical yet authentic alternative to solid wood fronts. By using real wood, we gain the characteristic scent, a fine grain and a unique texture that gives wood its unmistakeable aesthetic value.

The Schüller range includes wood veneer fronts in rich, dark brushed maroon knotty oak and the lighter model light knotty oak bianco. They lend character and depth to a Schüller kitchen without skimping on the natural properties of wood.

Wood decors: A functional, versatile option

Wood decors also have their benefits as an alternative to wood veneer. They also have a robust particle board as a base on which a layer of plastic with the befitting wood look is applied during manufacturing. However, despite being a more economical alternative, wood decors also have outstanding qualities. This easy-to-clean material is scratch resistant, and extreme temperatures, steam and water spray do not pose a problem.

Shelves with integrated lighting effectively bring the grain and unique structure of the wood to the fore.

The decors especially stand out for their broad colour spectrum and different visual effects. Extremely practical, wood decor is just as easy to clean as other materials, whilst the high-quality character of wood veneer provides a suitable alternative to solid wood without compromising on the natural texture and advantages of wood.

Satin lacquer with wood pore structure

Satin lacquer with wood pore structure

If you’re still unsure what front material to choose, or whether lacquer or a wood look is the right choice, satin lacquer with an open-pored structure is a high-quality alternative.

The open-pored structure has the appearance of lacquered wood. The subtle grain of the lacquer gives the kitchen character and oozes the natural warmth of wood. Paired with the natural shine and functionality of satin lacquer, it creates a feeling of timeless cosiness.

The satin lacquer, pore finish can also be combined with the diverse colour ranges of the Schüller Colour Concept  .
